Recipe : Famous Kwe Kia Theng
Kwe Kia Theng is one of popular food from Pontianak, West Kalimantan. This signature dish come from Tio Ciu people. Kwa kia Theng is like kwetiau which serve with pork and egg which became like stews with many spices. But nowadays so many variant of Kwe Kia Theng, one of it by using dumplings.It doesnt have many differenceace with the first version, meanwhile this taste so much great cause the spices still same but with another variant make our mouth feel the rich sensation of this dish. So now lets make your own Kwe Kia Theng!
Main Ingredient :
- 1 package of dumpling ( chop to dice shape)
- 300 gr beef
- 10 boiled quail eggs
- 2 garlic cloves ( thinly chopped)
- 2 cm cinnamon
- 5 cloves
- 2 mace
- 1 liter water
- 4 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- 2 tbsp beef broth powder
- Salt to taste
- White pepper to taste
- Cooking oil
Garnish :
- Leek
- Red Chillies
How To Make :
- Sautee garlic cloves until fragnant, then add the beef stir fry until the colour changing. Add some water. Add the quail egg, cinnamon, cloves, mace, broth powder, sweet soy sauce, salt and white pepper.
- Continue until the beef cooked through.
- Boiled the dumpling until floated. Then put the boiled dumpling into a bowl. Pour the beef, quail egg and the spices soup to the bowl.
- Add some chopped leek and chillies. Your Kwe Kia Theng ready to serve!
