You’ll Need:


  1. 2 lbs ground beef
  2. 1 medium onion, chopped
  3. 2 15 oz can tomato sauce
  4. 1 12 oz can tomato pasta
  5. 1 15 oz can water
  6. 1 tsp oregano
  7. 1 tsp basil
  8. 1 tsp garlic salt
  9. Salt and pepper to taste
  10. 24 oz cottage cheese, or Ricotta cheese
  11. 2 lbs mozzarella cheese, grated
  12. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  13. 1 16 oz box mini farfalle, bow tie pasta


How to Make:


  1. Preheat oven to 350° and spray a 13 x 9 baking dish with a nonstick spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onions over medium heat.
  3. Sprinkle garlic salt, salt, and pepper on ground beef while cooking.
  4. Cook ground beef until done. Drain fat. Return to pan.
  5. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, oregano, basil to meat mixtures. Stir until combined.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes.
  7. In a large pot, add water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  8. Add pasta and cook until al dente.
  9. Drain, rinse pasta. Set aside.
  10. Spoon 1/3 of the meat mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  11. Add 1/2 of pasta to cover meat mixture.
  12. Spoon 1/2 of cottage cheese and cover pasta.
  13. Sprinkle 1/3 of grated mozzarella cheese over the top of cottage cheese.
  14. Next spread another 1/3 of meat mixture, Parmesan cheese, remaining pasta, remaining cottage cheese, 1/3 mozzarella cheese in that order.
  15. Lastly, add remaining meat mixture, and remaining cheese.
  16. Cover with foil. Place in oven for 1 hour. Remove foil and cook for additional 15-20 minutes until heated through.
