Recipe : Famous Palu Butung Ice ( South Sulawesi )
Pallu butung is a signature dish from South Sulawesi, this food is often used as a dish to break the fast during Ramadan. Pallu butung is almost similar to Pisang Ijo ( in Jakarta style).Pallu Butung is made from a mixture of rice flour, coconut milk, sugar, pandan leaves, vanilla and salt which is then cooked and thick. Then put the pieces of riped plantain and then stirred. Pallu Butung can be served warm, and also served cold by adding grated ice on it. Pallu Butung can also be added a little syrup for give more colour and sweetness.
Ingredient :
- 5 riped plantain ( you can substitute with Kepok Banana { Musa acuminata } )
- 150 ml coconut milk
- 2 tbs rice flour
- 3 cups water ( for boiled)
- 2 Pandan leaves
- 6 tbsp sugar
- Syrup ( if desired, based on taste)
How To Make :
- Slice the plantain or kepok banana sideways or as you desire.
- Boil the water with 50 ml coconut milk, sugar and pandan leaves. Wait for boiled then put the plantain.
- After the plantain cooked through, add the remaining coconut milk which already mix with rice flour to make the thick texture.
- You can serve in warm or cold ( by add some grated ice).
- Pour some syrup to give colour and sweetness ( optional).
